About me
A book talk is not an oral book report. Students recommend a book without revealing too much about the climax, falling action, or the resolution. They focus their "talk" on the theme and interesting characters. Then, they make a persuasive appeal to the listener.
My class used PowerPoint for oral practice before recording in CTLS. We discovered that PowerPoint gives oral presentation feedback, which was invaluable to our finished product.
These book talks were recorded in CTLS using the discussion button. Students video recorded themselves pitching their books to other students. The technology component made the book talks novel for the middle school student, which resulted in high levels of engagement.
I would love to share this information in a poster presentation.
